01 Agent runtime design
QCon AI Boston 2027 · July 8-9 · Boston
Two days on the problems that appear once AI is in production.
Agents that run for hours, company context that goes stale, evals you can act on, tool access that needs limits, and rising inference costs. The senior engineers running these systems show you how they're handling them.

Why attend
How QCon AI Boston is different
Find out what works in production
Senior engineers and architects share what works on systems they run and what they'd do differently, so you can test your own plans against it.
How other teams solved it
A look at how teams outside your own company are solving the same problems, such as agent state and tool permissions.
Problem-solve with peers and speakers
Hundreds of senior engineers attend, with one speaker for every eleven. There's time to work problems through with peers and ask speakers questions 1:1.
Hand-picked, vendor-neutral talks
The Program Committee invites only senior practitioners leading the way or doing something new. Sponsors do not control the program. No hidden product pitches.
Program
What the 2027 program covers
Built around the challenges of running AI in production.
02 Context engineering
Keeping company context useful without flooding the prompt.
03 Evals and observability
Seeing what the system did, and deciding whether a change ships.
04 MCP and tool access
How much access an agent gets to internal systems, and who approves it.
05 Zero-trust agent security
Identity, least privilege, and kill switches for agents that take action.
06 Inference cost and latency
Which requests need the most capable model, and what each choice costs.

Why senior engineers trust QCon
What past QCon attendees say
QCon is a conference by engineers for engineers. I didn't feel like I was being sold something as part of the presentations, but rather like I was learning from what is actually happening in other companies.
QCon provides an opportunity to obtain new ideas and approaches to developing software. I have and would continue recommending QCon to anyone interested in keeping up with the latest trends by learning from those who are defining those trends.
QCon is a great place for industry leaders to share what they've learned, techniques they've discovered, and pitfalls to avoid without an overarching sponsor presence.
