1.9.0 Release Notes
Overview
Tsurugi 1.9.0 adds support for the
WITHclause (Common Table Expressions: CTE) as a new SQL feature. The
WITHclause is a syntax for defining named sub-queries within a SQL query, allowing complex queries to be broken down into readable, step-by-step expressions that improve readability and reusability. This version also extends UDF functionality with support for User-Defined Table-valued Functions (UDTF).
UDTFs can return multi-row, multi-column tabular results, and are invoked within the
FROMclause using theAPPLYoperator. In addition, this version resolves the restriction that prevented deploying multiple UDF plugins containing the
tsurugidb.udfmessage type.Note that this fix involves a partial change to the
udf-plugin-builderspecification.This version also includes several important bug fixes and stability improvements.
We strongly recommend all users of previous versions to upgrade to this release.
