たくさんの人が誤解をしているんだけど、うまい写真はいい写真ではない。いい写真というのはもっと別次元の話になる。いい写真の答えは哲学のようにそれぞれが辿り着くものだけど、うまい写真がいい写真ってわけじゃないって答えはほとんどのフォトグラファーと写真家の共通認識だろう。うまいから……で？　となる。いい写真の答えは自分で出さないといけない。これまでぼくもいい写真についてたくさん考えてきたけど答えを押し付けるつもりはない。だけど答えを見つけるヒントになればいいなと思う。（「いい写真とは」より）

ヨシタケシンスケさんの表紙絵がかわいらしい。 ここ数年、写真に心が動く時がたまにあります。 最近では…　といいつつ、一年半くらい前になりますが、東京都美術館の「展覧会　岡本太郎」で岡本太郎さんが全国を歩いて撮った写真を見た時に「あ、すごくいい」と感じることがありました。 写真で心が動くことがたまにある、という以外は、いろんな人がインスタにアップするように、食べる時、料理した時、iPhoneで写真を撮る程度です。あとは見慣れない風景やいいと感じた建築ですね。 iPhoneで撮るだけでも、とても楽しいと感じています。 ただ、この本は、iPhoneで楽しむ程度では届かない、もっと先、ちゃんとカメラを使って、目的に合ったレンズで、パソコンで作業をして写真を撮ることをはじめる人向けの本です。ただ、今の私にもやってみたくなること、背中をおされることがいくつかありました。 ここ数年、いろんな美術館や博物館で、作品を意識的に見るようになったせいもあるし、短歌で日常を切り取ることをしているので、幡野さんが感動のハードルを下げるといい、とおっしゃる状態です。これいいなぁ、とすぐに感じます。その瞬間に撮影すればいい。いいな、と思ってみたものを撮ればいいそうです。 本でよかった箇所は、写真は「言葉を足していい」、むしろ、「ちゃんと言葉で説明しなきゃダメ」と写真家である幡野さんが言ってるってことですね。記事など、文章で伝えること同様、何かを伝えたくて撮るのであれば、もちろんそうすべきですけど、やはり、権威者らしい人が言いそうな「見る人が考えればいい」という言葉に騙されていたようです。インスタにアップするときに、少し伝わる言葉を考えてみようと思います。感想を添えるだけです。タイトルではなくて、感想です。 例えば、幡野さんが遊園地で息子さんと回転するブランコに乗った時の写真では、 「家族で行った遊園地、小学生になった息子はお父さんの前を行くようになった」 といった具合です。 私は、自分で見た小さな感動を記録したいと思っているだけですが、それが幡野さんのいう「伝わる写真」とまったく同義かもしれませんし、そうじゃないかもしれません。自分が撮ったものを見るのは、翌日の私、あるいは半年後の自分なので、誰かに伝わる写真＝将来の自分に伝わる写真でもあると言えるでしょう。自分にとって「いい写真」「撮りたい写真」をiPhoneのシャッターを切りながら、もう少し考えたいところです。 まだまだカメラで写真を撮りたい、まで気持ちがありませんが、いい光がある朝夕を狙って写真を撮りたいと思っていますし、普段している言葉で説明することを、今より少し、写真でも考えたいと思いました。

    写真を始めて1年と少しになりますが、非常に参考になる内容でした。

    　よい写真とはというだけでなく、被写体との関係や距離感など、一般の教本にはあまり書かれていないけれど写真を撮る上で大事なこと、考えておくべきことがたくさん書かれています。批判的な言及も多く、読者それぞれに何かしら耳が痛いところもあるでしょうが、それを聞いておくのもまた大事なことかと思います。

    　断り書きがあるように、技術的な話はやや控えめな印象ですが、所々に珍しい言及があって面白いです(データ保存にRAIDを組むとか)。またRAW現像を強く推奨し、手順を説明しているのはRAW現像入門として非常にありがたく、実際に始めるよいきっかけとなりました。

    　読んでみて良かったと思います。

    　一方で、文章としては難点が多いと感じました。いくつか挙げておきます。

    ・論理性を欠く面がある。三分割構図の例を挙げて、理論的根拠が不明な三次情報で他人に教える人々を強く批判している。一般的な批判としては正しいが、例について一次情報との比較や具体的な誤りの指摘はなく「写真業界では誰もそんなこと言わない」で片付けており、論理的な批判になっていない。

    ・批判すべきことは容赦なく批判していると思いきや、これは怒られるからと避けているところがいくつかある。それなら触れないほうがいいのではないか。

    ・息子さんに関して興味深いエピソードが多数書かれているが、息子は写真が上手い、天才だなどと繰り返し書く。

    ・基本的に口が悪い。批判の内容は概ね適切であるにせよ、何かにつけて過剰に攻撃的で一言多い。

    　他にも気になる点は複数あり、書名のようにうまい文章やよい文章って何だろうと思わされました。

    　念のため繰り返しますが内容自体は参考になります。

    最悪に低俗な本。人を批判し、小馬鹿にし、作者が気持ちよくなるだけの言葉が並んでいる。それでいて得るものはなし。当たり前の事実と再現性のない精神論のみ。作者の一般常識が欠如している。

    返金してほしい。絶版にしてほしい。二度と本を書かないでほしい。この人の写真を使ったものも目にしたくありません。
