    文庫本はもっているのですが、完本版が出ると聞いて即注文しました。完本版には、文庫に収録されていないものが数点あり、特に冒頭の「赤い絆」については、文庫版の巻末に掲載された、浅田氏へのロングインタビュー「物語の生まれる場所」の中で、内容が少し引用されていて、これが文庫版で読めないことを大変残念に思っていましたので、此度の完本にそれが載っていることに狂喜しました。

    本の内容についてはもう、素晴らしいとしか言いようはありません。怪異な事象を扱った物語としては、遠野物語が金字塔と言えるでしょうが、それよりもいっとう優れた作品に違いないと思います。

    不思議な物語です。

    既に文庫版をもっている方も、完本版を購入することをお勧めします。

    カミさんに勧められて、浅田次郎の文章を初めて読んだ（いや、JALの機内誌で読んでるか）。何だよ文章旨いやんか。で、手当たり次第にコラムとかエッセイ集を購入。開口健いらい。五木寛之の霊的体験の話を以前読んだことがあるが、実は物書きの方には、このタイプの人って多いのかも。著者が子供時代の、まだ”何か”と人が共存していた地域の、時代の体験談。リアルで面白い。カミさんはこれ読んで、宿坊に泊まりに行った。

    浅田次郎という大衆作家が、こんなに格調の高い、ハイセンスな怪談物語を書く方だとは知らなかった。出てくる怪異の題材は、どれも古く懐かしく、切ない。それを伯母の語り聞かせというスタイルをとることで、本当にあったことかもしれないと勘違いしてしまいそうなタッチである。例えて言えば、オーソドックスな食材を使って見事に仕上げた創作料理を堪能するような気分といっては大げさだろうか。他の現代作家が書いた、ストレートなおどろおどろしさを露呈する怪異ものとは一線を画す、印象深い小説であった。
