Wikimedia MA User Group is a Wikimedia user group supporting Moroccan Wikimedians. It hosts and promotes Wikimedia projects in Morocco.
Who we are
[edit]After the recognition of Wikimedia MA User Group on the 6th of October 2015 by the WMF Affiliations Committee, the local user group was founded by Reda Benkhadra, Ismael Zniber and Anass Sedrati to represent Wikimedians in Morocco.
Wikimedia MA User Group seeks to contribute actively to the dissemination, improvement and advancement of free knowledge and culture through the development and distribution of encyclopedias, collections of quotations, books and other educational compilations of documents, especially in the languages spoken in Morocco.[1]
The user group aims to support Wikimedia projects that are directly or indirectly related to Morocco. It also aims to support Moroccan Wikimedians and to become in the near future a recognized chapter of Wikimedia in Morocco.
Objectives
[edit]Contribute to the dissemination and advancement of freely accessible educational and cultural resources, especially in the languages spoken in Morocco, including Arabic, Amazigh, French and English.
Support resources that people can access, use, study, copy, share, adapt and improve under free licensing conditions.
Promote and support Wikimedia Foundation projects and the community of volunteers who contribute to them.
Develop cultural exchanges and relations with local and international institutions, and seek resources to support these objectives.

[edit]Wikimedia MA User Group organizes and supports activities that bring experienced contributors and newcomers together, and seeks collaboration with institutions to improve the quality and reach of free knowledge.
Hands-on workshops for new and experienced Wikimedia contributors.
Opportunities to exchange ideas, plan initiatives and support volunteers.
Collaborative campaigns to improve Wikimedia content and welcome new editors.
Photo walks and contests documenting Morocco for Wikimedia Commons.
