The City of Ballwin is now part of a new program, called "Open Rewards". “Open Rewards” is an app-based program that offers diners 5% back on purchases at participating local restaurants. Those rewards can then be spent again in the community at restaurants in Ballwin!

For restaurants, the program offers an extra marketing opportunity that owners do not have to manage or pay for.

Customers do not need to live in Ballwin to participate in the program.

Is the app free?

Yes! The Open Rewards: Shop Local app is free in the Apple Store and the Google Play store.

How many rewards do I receive per purchase?

Rewards are 5% per purchase at local restaurants.

Is there a reward cap?

Rewards are capped at a maximum of $10 per single purchase.

Do my rewards expire?

If your rewards have an expiration date, they will be shown in the "expiry" section of your app. If you don't see anything with an expiry, that means they don't expire. This is subject to change.

Am I required to provide my bank account information?

No! You have the option to link your bank account for automated rewards or you can upload a photo of the receipt as proof of purchase.

I have money in my rewards balance. How do I take it out/use it?

Your rewards will be able to be applied to a future purchase at any listed restaurant in Ballwin For example, let's say you earned $10 from going to a restaurant, you can then redeem the $10 towards a coffee, ice cream, etc., at any listed restaurant in Ballwin. To do that, click "Redeem" from your home screen, select the business you shopped at, and submit the receipt or select your linked bank transaction. I went to a listed business, and they said they don't know about this program.

That is perfectly ok! It is possible that the local business you are visited does not know what to do with this program, because there is nothing they need to do! Simply follow the tutorials in the app.

Can I participate if I don't live in Ballwin?

Yes! The program is open to any consumers regardless of where you live.
