Dick: Very nice to see you, my little songbird. That was "Beautiful Dreamer", wasn't it? You know, I always feel sort of funny, because the last time you were here, you didn't find my future... I wore my hip jacket for you, however.

Janis: Yeah, it's important! It's sort of silly to just leave them out. "Full Tilt Boogie"!

Janis: No, just one long word, yeah.

Janis: It means... the phrase "full tilt boogie", I got it from a friend of mine who walked into my house one night and said, "Is everybody ready for full tilt boogie?"
ジャニス: 意味はね…「フル・ティルト・ブギ」って言葉は友達から貰ったの。ある晩うちに来て、「みんな、フルスロットルでノる準備はできてんのか！？」って叫んだのよ。
Dick: Yeah? What if he'd yelled something horrible, would you have called the group that?
ディック: へえ！もし彼がひどい言葉を叫んでたら、それバンド名にしてたの？
Janis: He yells a lot of horrible things; we just picked that one! That's good among the many things he says.
ジャニス: あはは、彼いっつも酷いことばっか言ってるから、マシなやつを選んだのよ！

Dick: Say, lately, you know, rock has been in the news because there have been rock concerts where a riot broke out. Have you ever been in a concert where a riot broke out?
ディック: 最近ロックがニュースで騒がれてるよね。コンサートで暴動が起きたとか。暴動が起きたコンサートに出たことある？
Janis: None of the shows I've ever played if I had ever had any trouble, save one in Philadelphia where a cop clubbed a girl for trying to kiss me. And I didn't dig it. A fan who just wanted to say hi, you know. Sometimes they overreact. But I can dig where an audience would get uptight if they bought tickets and nobody showed up except them, you know.
ジャニス: 私のライブでトラブルなんて今まで一度もなかったよ。フィラデルフィアの1回を除いてね。警官が私にキスしようとした女の子を警棒で殴ったの。私、それ超頭にきてさ。ただ挨拶したかっただけのファンだよ？警察って過剰反応しがちなのよね。でも、チケット買ったのに誰も出ないで観客放置されたらイライラする気持ちはわかるけどさ。

Dick: I heard that you have a peculiar limousine service. Someone mentioned it. What does that mean?
ディック: 君、変わったリムジンサービス使ってるんだって？噂で聞いたんだけど、どういうこと？
Janis: It's a love limousine run by a really groovy dude named John Fisher. The car... all the windows are purple, you know. And one has 13 speakers all mounted around...
ジャニス: ジョン・フィッシャーっていう超イカしたやつがやってる「ラブ・リムジン」のことね！車の中、窓がぜんぶ紫色なの。でね、スピーカーが13個も周りに取り付けられてて…
Dick: This is in a limousine?
ディック: リムジンの中に！？
Janis: Yeah, a big tape deck with all everybody you want to hear. And you just get in and you're like in an isolated environment with all this fantastic music coming in your brain, and then when you wake up, you're at the airport or wherever you have to go to.
ジャニス: そう！聴きたい曲がなんでも入ってるデカいテープデッキがあってさ。乗り込むと完全に孤立した空間で、最高の音楽が脳みそにガンガン入ってくるの。で、ハッと気づいたら空港とか目的地に着いてるのよ！
Dick: Don't you ever feel odd riding in a limousine?
ディック: リムジンに乗ってて変な感じしない？
Janis: No, it's funny... I always sit in the front seat so I can look at everybody.
ジャニス: 全然！面白いわよ。私はいつも助手席に座って周りのみんなを観察してんの！

Dick: Do you ever water-ski?
ディック: 水上スキーってやったことある？
Janis: No, I don't think I've seen a lake in about eight years!
ジャニス: ううん、ここ8年くらい湖すら見てないと思うわ！
Dick: I water-skied for the first time over the weekend. I water-skied 15 times for approximately eight seconds and I had to quit. I mean, I have muscles that I would never use in real life that hurt.
ディック: 僕この週末に初めて水上スキーやったんだけどさ。15回トライして合計8秒くらいしか立てなくて諦めたよ。普段絶対使わない筋肉がイタタタってなっちゃってさ。
Janis: That's why I don't do it!
ジャニス: だから私はやらないのよ！
[06:55] ロックフェスとチャリティ
Dick: Do you think that rock concerts have such a bad name now that it's going to cut into the business?
ディック: ロックコンサートの評判が悪くなって、ビジネスに響くと思う？
Janis: No, I mean, because there's been one or two riots... It's just like a problem of logistics. To have a good festival, I think you have to have a lot of organizational ability and a lot of talent, you know, and a lot of bread [money] to get it so it'll be functionable.
ジャニス: ううん、暴動なんて1〜2回あっただけでしょ。運用の問題よ。良いフェスにするには、ちゃんとした組織力と才能、それに動かすための資金が必要なの。
Janis: There's a couple coming off in August... Peter Yarrow's throwing together. A lot of groups are contributing their services and they're going to give all the bread to peace candidates, you know. They've got some real straight people to administer it so it isn't a rip-off.
ジャニス: 8月にもいくつかフェスがあるよ。ピーター・ヤーロウが企画しててね、たくさんのバンドがノーギャラで協力して、収益は全部平和運動の政治家に寄付するの。ボッタクリにならないよう、しっかりした人たちが運営してるから安心だよ。
