英語日記＃1872（唐揚げ）

日本語編

昨日は疲れてましたが、夕食に唐揚げを大量に揚げました。今日のお弁当のおかずにも残りの唐揚げを入れてあげたら喜んでくれました。揚げ物を作るのは大変ですが、娘が好きなのでまた作ると思います。

英語編

Although I was exhausted yesterday, I deep-fried a large batch of karaage for dinner. I put the remaining fried chicken into my daughter's bento box today, and she was delighted. Preparing deep-fried dishes is quite a hassle, but since my daughter loves it, I will definitely make it again.

• deep-fry / fry up: （油で）揚げる

• a large batch of / a whole bunch of: たくさんの、大量の（batch は一度にまとめて作る料理や製品の単位を表す、TOEICでもおなじみのパーツです）

• remaining / leftovers: 残りの、余り物（お弁当に入れる「昨晩の残り」は leftovers がぴったりハマります）

• bento box / lunchbox: お弁当箱

• delighted / so happy: 喜んで、とても嬉しそうにして

• quite a hassle / a lot of work: 手間がかかる、大変な作業（以前出てきた hassle がここでも大活躍します！）
