If I just try to memorize individual words, I forget them right away. So I try to remember them by reading example sentences aloud.

今年は真っ暗な林の中での撮影にもチャレンジしました。あたりは真っ暗で足元の地面がまったく見えませんでした。ランナーが来るのを待っている間は少し気持ち悪いくらいでした。
そんな中で撮れた写真をいくつか紹介します。ISOはカメラで設定している上限値の25600で撮影しました。以前のカメラならザラザラで使いものにならない画像でしょうが、このEOS R6mark2ならISO25600でもなんとかなると思っていました。R5のような高画素機では厳しい条件だと思います。

毎日20分の練習を提案してくれました。

①ラジオ英会話：5分
いつもの学習を続けながら、気に入った英文を3つ選びます。音声のあとに続いて声に出してください。例えば、I think so.、That sounds nice.、I'm not sure. などです。
②日本語から英語にする：5分
「昨日、写真を撮りました」を見て、I took some pictures yesterday. と言う練習をします。英文を読んで理解するだけでなく、日本語を見て英語を思い出すのがポイントです。
③質問に英語で答える：10分
自分に英語で質問し、声に出して答えます。最初は1〜2文で十分です。答えに詰まっても、すぐに模範解答を見ず、まず自分で考えてみましょう。

そして英語で返事をするときに効果的な「3文ルール」を教えてくれました。

内容はテキストなしでもわかるのですが、音読練習をするためにはテキスト必要ですね。

それは応募していたコンテストの結果でした。
「入選」の二文字が書かれていました。
２年連続の不選は免れ、そのことに関してはほっとしました。

自分の作品に何が足りなかったのか作品を見ながら考えてみました。
改めて冷静に写真を見ると、構図の詰めが甘く視線が分散してしまいます。
表情やタイミングはいいのですが、そのストーリーが伝えきれていないのではないかと思います。友人の愛情を主題にした写真は一目見てそれが伝わってきていました。
