Do you believe in love? Thoughts on the futile phenomenon known as "love"

To put it simply, I do not believe that the emotion known as "love" actually exists.
"I love you!"  "You're the only one for me!" I image most people have said things like this, and quite a few have likely had such words directed at them.

But consider this:
Statistical models based on data from the Minister of Health, Labour and  Welfare and the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research estimate that the lifetime probability of divorce for married couples is around 30-35%
