Beyond Points and Scalars: A Call for Scientific Realism
Every real object is necessarily enclosed by an outer shape — a closed surface. In such systems, the radius rrr does not vary with time ttt; instead, ccc represents tangential velocity, and phase changes manifest as patterns confined to the surface.
By contrast, propagating phenomena such as electromagnetic waves or gravitational waves lack a definable closed surface. In these cases, rrr becomes a function of ttt; ccc behaves as a normal diffusion velocity, and the phase spreads outward along the direction of propagation, much like Huygens’ construction of wavefronts. Such waves are not self-contained objects, but states that cannot maintain closed-surface symmetry.
It follows that points, lines, and scalar fields are abstractions—conceptual tools invented for human thought—but they are not real entities. To confuse these idealized constructs with reality is to fall short of science. Real existence always involves closure, boundary, and asymmetry within surfaces.
To move beyond non-science, physics must graduate from mistaking abstract tools for actual structures.
