Advertisers can upload video assets intended for YouTube directly into Campaign Manager 360, eliminating the need to upload videos separately via YouTube.

After uploading the videos to Campaign Manager 360, these video assets can be used across both YouTube and non-YouTube placements. Campaign Manager 360 placements sync directly to Display & Video 360 as creatives, aligning the YouTube workflow with existing non-YouTube video workflows.

Sync and set up your creatives in Display & Video 360

After setting up your placement, ad, and creative in Campaign Manager 360, the placement automatically syncs to Display & Video 360 as a creative. The sync process can take up to 24 hours. After syncing, you can add these creatives to your YouTube & partners line items.

Step 1 of 2: View the synced creatives

  1. Open your advertiser in Display & Video 360.
  2. In the left menu, expand Creative and select Creatives.
  3. Locate your synced creatives in the "Creatives" page.

Step 2 of 2: Assign synced creatives

  1. In Display & Video 360, navigate to your YouTube & partners or Demand Gen line item.
  2. Create or select an existing ad group.
  3. In the "Ads" section, select Display & Video 360 Creative.

Considerations

  • Ad-level targeting, ad scheduling, and creative rotation aren’t supported for YouTube placements in Campaign Manager 360.
  • Creatives will undergo 2 separate reviews:
    • A Display & Video 360 policy review occurs after the syncing with Campaign Manager 360.
    • A YouTube-specific review of the contents of the ads automatically created from the Display & Video 360 creative.
  • Ad names will be inherited from the Campaign Manager 360 ad name. Updates to the creative, such as landing pages changes or swapping creatives, must be made in Campaign Manager 360. Changes automatically resync to Display & Video 360. However, if an update makes the placement ineligible for YouTube, the associated Display & Video 360 creative is paused in any active YouTube ad groups.
  • Creative management can also be done using Structured Data Files (SDFs). Learn more about Structured Data File (SDF) Format.
  • In line with existing eligibility criteria in Display & Video 360, placement duration contributes to the eligibility for specific YouTube formats. You must specify the creative's duration in the placement instead of using Any.
