Google Pixel 7 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: The most heated Android flagship battle of 2022

If you want a new Android flagship phone, the Galaxy S22 Ultra or Pixel 7 Pro are near the top of your lists -- but which phone is better?

The Google Pixel is in an interesting spot. It is technically the default Android phone because it is made by Google, but because Samsung has been making phones for so much longer, and has such a wider global reach, it is instead Galaxy phones that are considered the default Android phone in the eyes of many casual consumers. And so, every time a new Android flagship comes out, it has to be compared to the latest Samsung flagship.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro review: Great sounding earbuds with the smartest transparency mode

Samsung's Galaxy Buds 2 Pro offer excellent sound and a sleeker, lightweight design. Check out our review to learn more about these earbuds!

Samsung's been making wireless earbuds for many years, but it wasn't until last year's Galaxy Buds Pro did the South Korean tech giant really make a great pair of wireless earbuds. Before the Buds Pro, previous Samsung buds were unpolished, like those kidney bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live which I liked, but had the world's most pointless "active noise cancellation" because the earbuds did not cover the wearer's ear canals at all.

Samsung Galaxy S22 revisited: Keeping the dream of compact phones alive!

In this article, we'll revisit the Galaxy S22 to find out how it holds up against other flagship phones in 2022.

I have a confession to make: I am not really into compact phones. The last one I used was the Samsung Galaxy S10e. Remember that cute little phone that was made available in a bunch of fun colorways like Canary Yellow and Flamingo Pink? Even that didn't impress me enough to keep it around in my pocket. I am not a fan of compact phones because I think they're underpowered compared to their "regular" variants or they're often too small to even handle the basic phone stuff.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Review: It's a lifestyle

Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 4 is still the best at what it's supposed to be, that being a foldable flip phone and a lifestyle device.

Like last year's Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is still the best at what it's supposed to be, that being a foldable flip phone and a lifestyle device. It's a delightful phone to carry around, and it's just plain fun to use. It will bring you back to a nostalgic era, while still being functional for the modern age.

Over the last four years, the foldable smartphone market has gone from almost being dead on arrival thanks to the original launch of the Galaxy Fold, to a lineup that’s captivated the imagination of millions of customers globally. Samsung has led the charge on this, combining its brand appeal and vast marketing budgets to nudge the Galaxy Z line out of the shadows and firmly into the limelight.

With Android 13 just around the corner, Samsung fans have been waiting patiently to get their hands on the next iteration of One UI: One UI 5.0. Samsung has now started the One UI 5.0 public beta program, beginning with the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. We've sideloaded the Open Beta on our Galaxy S22 Ultra and these are some of the first things that we've noticed. One UI 5 is the name for Samsung’s next major Android-based software and it’ll be based on Google’s Android 13 release. The current open beta is available for download in Germany and South Korea at the moment, but will also be available in the U.S. at a later time.

Xiaomi 12S Ultra vs Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: Battle of the 2022 Ultras

Take a deep dive comparison into two of the best Android phones you can buy today: the Xiaomi 12S Ultra vs the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra!

Xiaomi may not publicly confess it, but its Ultra series is clearly aimed to take on Samsung's own line with the same namesake, and it's a worthy comparison every year. I say this not just because of the "Ultra" signifier. Heck, ZTE has an Ultra phone too and I would not consider that phone a true competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. To earn the comparison against Android's top dog, the new phone must bring the latest cutting-edge tech and back it up with polished software for an overall high-end experience. You have to walk the talk to be Ultra, and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra does so.

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Hands-On: Flipping the iPhone SE 3 approach

Samsung's new mid-tier Galaxy A53 5G phone competes directly against the iPhone SE 3 in North America at the mid-tier price range

Samsung recently unveiled a pair of mid-tier phones -- the Galaxy A53 5G and the Galaxy A33 5G. The better of the two devices, the Galaxy A53 seemed positioned to take on the just-launched iPhone SE 3 (2022). While Apple's mid-ranger prioritized giving consumers a flagship-level chip while compromising on things like display technology and modern looks, Samsung takes the opposite approach: the Galaxy A53 has a mostly modern look with an immersive screen, huge battery, a surprisingly good main camera, but an SoC that is unproven and frankly doesn't have the best reputation.

Hands on with the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro series

Samsung's Galaxy Book 2 Pro series has AMOLED displays, super-light designs, big touchpads, and more, and we got to go hands on with them.

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Book 2 series, not to be confused with the Snapdragon 850-powered Galaxy Book 2 from a few years ago. Consisting of the Galaxy Book 2 Pro, Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360, Galaxy Book 2 360, and Galaxy Book 2 Business, Samsung kept the best of last year's models (mostly), and elevated them with Intel 12th-gen processors and FHD webcams.

The Snapdragon Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is way better than the Exynos

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset is miles better than the Exynos 2200 variant. Read our comparison!

Samsung updates its flagship lineup of smartphones yearly, and every year, there's always one contentious issue: which is better, Snapdragon or Exynos? Exynos is the company's in-house chipset that powers some of its phones every year, though nearly always, Europe is the one region guaranteed to get an Exynos chip. The U.S. tends to get a Snapdragon chip, and then it's a toss-up in all of the other regions what chipset they'll get. This year, India got a Snapdragon chip for the first time in the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, and like clockwork, Europe got Exynos.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Review: Good phone, wrong price

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is a great smartphone, but you should not buy it at full price. Click to read our full review.

The Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) was one of the best smartphones of 2020 back when it was released. This wasn't because it had incredible cameras or unique hardware features, but because it brought some of the best features of the Galaxy S series at a much lower price. While the main Galaxy S phones approached or surpassed $1,000, the Galaxy S20 FE was available for $699 at launch and often dipped down to $550. Flagship-class smartphones are rarely that affordable in the United States, and Samsung's decision to make the Snapdragon-powered model available in many regions that previously only had Exynos-based Galaxy phones made it a success internationally too. For those regions, you could finally get a good Samsung flagship with a Snapdragon processor, meaning you could game on it better than you could on the main S-series flagship of that region.

Hands-on with Samsung One UI 4.0 Beta 2: Theming, Virtual RAM, and more!

Samsung One UI 4.0 Beta 2 is out, and we try it out on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Check out the new features, stability, and battery life!

Samsung pushed out the second iteration of their One UI 4.0 beta software earlier this week. Coming roughly three weeks after the original beta release, the new version brings some new features and promises performance improvements. One of the key changes is the ability to dynamically theme your device using colors pulled from the current wallpaper. This feature is one of the cornerstones of Google's Material You redesign in Android 12 on Pixel devices. The Samsung One UI 4.0 beta 2 dynamic theme engine doesn't appear to behave exactly as Google's Monet on a Pixel phone, but it does bring an extra layer of customization to One UI that users have been asking for.

For a couple of weeks now, I've been using the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. It's a phenomenal device, and frankly, it's pretty much everything I want in a phone. We've already got a review for the phone itself, but today I want to talk about a different angle -- the Microsoft experience.

Nobody should buy the Galaxy Z Fold 3's official S Pen Case

In this article, we discuss the atrocity that is Samsung's $80 Galaxy Z Fold 3 S Pen case, one of the worst accessories they've ever made.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is here, the newest premium foldable from Samsung. Perhaps you've even just received your shiny preorder device in the mail. The phone itself is great, definitely the best foldable yet. Samsung is also known for putting out a bevy of accessories with each flagship launch. In general, Samsung accessories tend to be well built with a number of useful features. At Samsung Unpacked, Samsung did unveil the S Pen Case for the Galaxy Z Fold 3, a flip case that not only protected the new foldable but also had a storage area for the S Pen Fold Edition. Unfortunately, this new Galaxy Z Fold 3 Flip Cover with S Pen is neither well-built nor useful.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 takes the already excellent Fold 2 and adds a bunch of refinement and polish, including sturdier materials, water-proofing, and stylus input support. The first two upgrades are immediately noticeable the minute you begin using the Galaxy Z Fold 3. But to use a stylus — better known as the "S Pen" — requires a separate purchase.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic review: The best Wear OS watch yet

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is the first step in a new frontier of Wear OS devices, and it's a darn good smartwatch.

Even though Samsung and Google have worked together on phones and tablets for years, the same isn't true with wearables. Samsung only released one watch with Google's wearable software (then called Android Wear), the Gear Live, and every wearable device after that used Samsung's own Tizen platform. Even though Tizen has been a more polished experience than Wear OS in most areas, the only company ever producing Tizen watches was Samsung, which hasn't led to much app development. Meanwhile, Wear OS has stagnated due to poor hardware and the same lack of software development.
