Introduction: Hello Geeks! I am Sindhu Priya, currently in my 3rd year of B.Tech at Parul University, specializing in Artificial Intelligence. I recently completed my semester exams, and I wanted to share my experience and strategy for tackling core AI and data science subjects. Navigating 3rd Year AI & Data Science Exams at Parul University ✍️🤖
The Exam Vibe: 3rd year is where things get serious! Our papers focused heavily on Machine Learning (ML) and Data Visualisation. Unlike previous years, these exams weren't just about theory; they required a deep logical understanding of how algorithms actually work.
Key Subjects Covered:
Machine Learning: The paper was a mix of math and logic. Deriving the cost functions and understanding the bias-variance tradeoff was the highlight.
Data Science Tools: Focused on Python libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-Learn.
My Preparation Strategy:
GfG Resources: I used the GeeksforGeeks AI & ML Tutorial to clear my basics on Neural Networks and Regression.
PYQs (Previous Year Questions): At Parul University, focusing on the last 3 years of papers gives you a great idea of the faculty's favorite topics.
Active Revision: I made one-page cheat sheets for all ML algorithms—listing their pros, cons, and use cases.
The Toughest Part: Dealing with the "Backpropagation" numericals! It’s one thing to code it, but doing the partial derivatives by hand during an exam is the real test. 😅
Tips for Juniors:
- Don’t just "mug up" definitions. Understand the math behind the models.
- Practice SQL queries on paper; it's easy to make syntax errors without a compiler!
- Keep your diagrams (like Decision Trees or CNN layers) very clean.
What about you? For my fellow AI/CS students—what was the hardest subject in your 3rd year? Let’s share our struggles and tips in the comments! 👇
