Assessment is meaningful when it addresses questions that people care about and that benefit student learning. When we do assessment for learning we create spaces for meaningful work.
Student learning is the responsibility of everyone in the educational community, and assessment must be done in collaboration within the community to understand student achievement and the student experience.
Sustainable Assessment integrates assessment into institutional processes, devotes resources to good assessment, and uses results to make improvements to instruction, programs, or the learning environment.
This site provides resources for the CSU community to learn about learning outcomes assessment and educational program evaluation. We hope that community members will use these resources to engage in collaborative assessment work, and connect with university programs and offices devoted to using assessment as a tool to help students learn and thrive at CSU. Resources will be added regularly.
