What again?

I'm a long term user (first edit 2006) and have been an admin on or off since 2007. When we first started there was so much idealism and we really had no strong policies about inclusion except a desire to have some level of sourcing. As time moved on we became more structured and around the time I became an admin in 2007 we were grappling with the concept of collapsing non notable articles into lists which I was at the forefront of as a regular afd closer and constant presence at DRV. I had a lot of patience once and for that reason was regular DRV closer for a long time after GRBerry left the project. Sadly, my patience was degraded over time and getting involved in the long battle to remove poorly sourced porn performer articles that was one of the first cases of SNGs being deprecated in favour of obvious stuff like meeting the GNG. This pretty much washed out a lot of the good faith that policy and courtesy quite rightly requires us to show. This affected me for a very long time and I'm only recently getting my manners back, and able to contribute more extensively. If I say something you think is rude. Please tell me!

A BLP is a serious matter and needs to be properly sourced.

While I do take my responsibility to be accountable to the community seriously, that doesn't extend to my accepting unfounded allegations of bias or super voting. I don't close discussions I have a personal opinion on and generally I don't look at articles when I'm closing, so when you start a conversation with immediate assumptions of bad faith I'm honestly not going to be very interested in your questions. I regularly make mistakes and I'm quick to fix them but start with assuming that I'm wrong or mistaken rather then intentionally evil. One thing I absolutely won't do is discuss any close under the threat of being taken to DRV or a noticeboard. If you are only ticking boxes before the inevitable listing then just go straight there.

please stay in the top three tiers

i am willing to userfy deleted articles for improvement as long as there is a reasonable likelihood that they can be saved.

If you are challenging a deletion, do you have three good sources?

Please don't leave talkback templates as I always watchlist pages when I edit and I'm perfectly capable of looking for a reply myself.

Hello Spartaz, sorry I was carried away. Replying now as the discussion about NUTSHELL CRM was archived. I found multiple sources on Google News as well as in general search that I think are strong and reliable as per the notability criteria here. I'm not sure about the previous version that was deleted, so I can't answer your question firmly. Also, my main concern was that, it was deleted based on a single person's opinion i.e one vote. The system was taking me to a deletion review something but I thought I must ask you here. This is the link to the Google news section [section] Appreciate any help here, Thank you.Jackly502 (talk) 07:15, 27 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Clarification

[edit]

Hiya,

Could I have some clarification on the DylanMReed topic ban? I found my way to their talk page (they're currently defending their choice to decline an AfC draft about a film because it did not include a plot summary and I was a little dumbfounded); found the old ANI discussion where an "Indian filmmaking" topic ban was agreed upon, but they have continued to review Indian TV shows, arguing that the tban was for "Indian films". Could I have some clarification as to what the tban includes and does not include? I was under the impression that filmmaking very unambiguously includes TV shows but perhaps I am not correct. aesurias (she/her) (talk) 10:21, 29 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

I see films as cinema. Is his editing problematic ? Spartaz Humbug! 18:00, 29 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I personally have concerns about WP:CIR from this discussion. I have not had time to look at their mainspace contributions. aesurias (she/her) (talk) 21:05, 29 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Deletion review for Performance management work

[edit]

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Performance management work. Because you closed the discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. --Altenmann >talk 17:34, 31 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

BTW, you canot block me for my edit there, because you are involved in editing this page. --Altenmann >talk 17:45, 31 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Altenmann: attempts to interfere with the an XfD close can be and usually is dealt with by the closing admin. WP:INVOLVED does not apply to enforcing an administrative decision. Owen× ☎ 18:34, 31 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm not involved if I'm only acting in an administrative capacity. Read the policy. Spartaz Humbug! 18:49, 31 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
