border articles

[edit]

How are you creating so many border articles? Are you using AI? --Joy (talk) 21:14, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

No. That may actually work, but then there would probably be too many mistakes, as AI tends to be outdated a lot. AI (at least the one on Google) also seems to have trouble differentiating between an illegal crossing which is physically possible and an actual border crossing point. If you relied on AI, places like the Wakhjir Pass or Roxham Road would end up being border crossings.
I usually look into third party sources for lists and use mainly Google maps/Openstreetmap too double-check/verify. Travelbird (talk) 21:29, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Well, I don't really understand how one makes an article about the Montenegro-Croatia border without pointing out Prevlaka. --Joy (talk) 21:54, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
?? On Croatia–Montenegro border there is a whole paragraph...? Travelbird (talk) 21:57, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, and like I said, it did not point out Prevlaka, which has had an article since 2004. --Joy (talk) 22:10, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid I am struggling to understand your point. The article has a link to Prevlaka. Do you want to add a "See also" section? Travelbird (talk) 22:13, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
The article that you posted did not have that link, I had to fix that with this edit. The point is quite clear - why are we writing new articles by the dozen without correlating a modicum of information already available in the encyclopedia? Even if it's not AI-assisted, it's not right. This is supposed to be a collaborative and coherent work, not a place for fresh monologues. --Joy (talk) 22:22, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't see a point in continuing this discussion. It is very unfortunate that you are not Wikipedia:Assume good faith. Travelbird (talk) 22:26, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I am assuming good faith, which is why I'm asking you what is happening here. --Joy (talk) 22:32, 11 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
[edit]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Moldova–Ukraine border, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dubove was added.

New cross-language page link: Abyei status referendum

[edit]

A new page Referendo sobre o estatuto de Abyei on the Portuguese Wikipedia has been linked to the page Abyei status referendum, which you created, via Wikidata (Q4670727). NervousBot (talk) 16:55, 1 November 2026 (UTC)Reply
