Enabling R & E through Technology and Community

Our Shared Mission

Internet2 drives community-led innovation, bringing R&E peers together to co-create trusted, secure infrastructure and tackle shared technology challenges.

Together, we extend what’s possible for higher education, affiliate, federal affiliate, industry, and regional network members and stakeholders, keeping our community agile, competitive, and ready to enable tomorrow’s scientific breakthroughs.

Founded in 1996, Internet2 is formally the University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development (UCAID), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit governed by a Board of Trustees who represent our membership.

Leo Howell, vice president for IT and CIO at Georgia Tech“When research and education leaders come together as a community, the conversation shifts from isolated problem-solving to shared momentum. You quickly realize you’re facing the same constraints, so the work feels less like a local struggle and more like a collective challenge.”
