第2章 #15 ギリシア人の祈りは凝視、ローマ人の祈りは内省

#15  Mommsen,  comparing the Greek and the Roman,  says  that  when the former worshipped he raised his eyes to Heaven, for his prayer was contemplation,   while the latter veiled his head, for his was reflection.

私の訳：ギリシア人とローマ人を比較したモムゼンは以下のように言う。前者（ギリシア人）は礼拝をする時に彼は彼の眼を天に上げる。と言うのは、彼の祈りは凝視であるから。一方で、後者（ローマ人）は彼の頭を覆う。というのは、彼の祈りは内省であるから。
