Background Context
After the sudden passing of my beloved cat, with whom I had lived for twelve years, the weight of unresolved emotions became too heavy to bear, and I found myself turning to music simply to endure that pain.
Looking back now, I can say that by fulfilling the role of seeing my companion off, I came to my own answer to a large and fundamental theme: how I understand life and death.
Long-held pain.
What life truly means.
What this world, and all things within it, are.
How we see these things differs from person to person.
But if this song can offer even the smallest point of reference to a heart left without a place to rest, then I believe that becomes the meaning of carrying my companion’s existence forward through song.

[Intro]
[verse 1]
[Pre-Chorus]
[chorus]
[bridge]
[chorus]
[Big Finish]
[SECTION: English Literal Translation]
[Intro]
I realized it by losing you
That there is a pain
Which cannot be replaced by words
[verse 1]
Believing, without doubt,
That we would laugh together tomorrow and the day after
Silent trust, innocent indifference
I come to realize it was an unfaithful expectation
[Pre-Chorus]
"Even so, I wanted you to live"
What a selfish desire that is
The sin you taught me
Is still one of the bones that shape who I am
[chorus]
O fleeting life, flowers that scatter
Memories, layer upon layer, my tears do not dry
If it cannot be fulfilled, why do we love?
Fragments, scattered apart, return to quanta
Parting — the law of this present world, a transient form
I exist together with you
[bridge]
"Could I have done something with these hands?"
Even that feels like arrogance
I was always afraid to put it into words
In the twelfth August after your passing, I finally take a step
Now I offer you a farewell
[chorus]
O fleeting life, flowers that scatter
This love and grief, layer upon layer, my tears do not dry
A wish not fulfilled, now I will turn it into song
Breath of life, circling and circling, the soul takes lodging
Cycle and change — the law of the eternal world — may your heart be at peace
I exist simply, forever, together with you
[Big Finish]
Surely until the final moment I will not forget
The proof that you lived
I could do nothing for you
Yet, as long as I am here
I will carry on your existence
[SECTION: English Interpretive Translation]
[Intro]
I learned it only by losing you—
that some pain
has no words to contain it.
[verse 1]
I never doubted
that we would still laugh tomorrow,
and the day after.
Such silent trust, such innocent disregard—
I see now it was an unfaithful hope.
[Pre-Chorus]
Still… I wanted you to stay.
What a selfish wish that was.
The sin you showed me
is still a bone in the frame of who I am.
[chorus]
O fleeting life, blossoms falling—
layered memories, and tears that never dry.
If love cannot last, why do we love at all?
Shards, scattered wide,
return to the smallest threads of being.
Parting is the nature of this world,
this body only a fleeting form.
Yet know—
I continue to exist within this great whole.
[bridge]
Could these hands have done anything?
Even that thought feels proud.
For years I feared to speak it aloud—
but in the twelfth August since you left,
I take a step,
and lay my parting gift at your feet.
[bridge]
O fleeting life, blossoms falling—
this love and grief, piling high,
tears that will not dry.
A wish unfulfilled—
I will give it to the song.
Life’s breath turns and turns,
and the soul finds new vessels.
This endless flow is the law of forever.
Be at peace.
Though I am not beside you,
I remain—always—somewhere in this vast world with you.
[Big Finish]
Until the final moment I will remember
the proof that you were here.
I could do nothing for you—
yet as long as I am,
I will carry you forward.
