What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include scripts, pixels, and local storage. Some are set by us (“first-party”), and others are set by the services we use (“third-party”).
Your choices
When you first visit sqpn.com, a banner asks which cookies you allow. Functional cookies are always on. Statistics and marketing cookies stay off until you turn them on. You can change your choices at any time with the “Cookie Settings” tab at the bottom of the screen.

If you do not allow marketing cookies, our newsletter signup forms, YouTube videos, and favorite-show highlight do not load. You will see a link to watch each video on YouTube instead.
Our newsletter emails also contain Mailchimp tracking pixels that record opens and clicks. These are part of the newsletter you subscribed to, not of the cookie banner. Unsubscribing stops them.
Third-party content and services
When pages load content from these services, they receive your IP address and browser information and may set their own cookies:
- PayPal (payment buttons, including Venmo and Pay Later), which loads on many pages
- Google Fonts and BootstrapCDN (fonts and styling)
- GuideStar / Candid (transparency badge on our Giving page)
- Libsyn and Blubrry (podcast audio player, file delivery, and download statistics)
Links to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, TuneIn, Patreon, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube channels and playlists are plain links. These services set cookies only if you click through to their sites, where their own policies apply.
Managing cookies
- Use the “Cookie Settings” tab at the bottom of the screen to change your choices.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings (usually under Settings > Privacy). If you block functional cookies, the store and donation checkout may not work.
- Opt out of Google Analytics: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter with the link in any newsletter email. That also stops Mailchimp from connecting site activity to your profile.
