DATA SOVEREIGNTY MADE EASY

openmediavault is a free, open-source network attached storage (NAS) solution based on Debian Linux. It lets you store, share and back up your data on hardware you control, independent of external cloud providers.

Files are stored on hardware you control, with access and sharing configured to suit your needs. Ready-to-use services provide the tools to store, share and back up data via a straightforward web interface. Plugins extend the system with additional functionality.

Designed primarily for homes and small offices, but not limited to them, openmediavault makes self-managed storage accessible without extensive technical knowledge.

New updates available

openmediavault 8.6.0

  • Read the file system information from the udev database instead of running blkid on every request. This prevents hanging blkid processes (and a high system load) when a disk is failing.
  • Do not probe all block devices via findmnt --output-all, because this hangs if a disk is failing.
  • Fix wrong parsing of file system labels containing double quotes.
  • Wait until udev has processed the changes after creating a file system or wiping a device.
