【Lucia’s One-Minute Column — Today’s Perspective —】
A plausible explanation is not the same as a substantiated one.
Plausible means that something appears reasonable or convincing at first glance.
However, it does not guarantee that sufficient evidence has been provided.
To substantiate a claim, one must present data, address possible discrepancies, and show how resources were properly allocated.
At the Eiken Grade 1 level—and in academic writing—what matters is not whether an idea sounds convincing, but whether it is logically supported.
True persuasiveness comes from demonstrated reasoning, not impression.
